WESCO Delivers To DEQ

Water Quality Assessment, Reporting, and Documentation System (WARD)

Helena, MT - May 30, 2007

WESCO delivered the contract by the State of Montana to perform the design, development, and acquisition of the WARD system. The WARD application assists Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) staff in the management of water quality monitoring data, analysis of that data, and tracks assessment conclusions. This application incorporates functionality from several existing applications and processes: It incorporates data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) STOrage and RETrieval (STORET) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Information System (NWIS) web databases, employs analysis toolpacks to analyze monitoring data, incorporates concepts and data elements of DEQ's DataRev7/8 files, link Water Quality Standards Attainment (WQSA) determinations with DEQ's reference library, and tracks assessment conclusions in EPA's Assessment Database (ADB). The application is a multi-user application with relevant user-level security. It includes reporting capabilities both to produce hardcopy reports and to share data over the Web with the public.

WESCO continues to maintain, and enhance the system.
